What is a muse for us writers and artists
and where does it go when we most need it
is it a person, a place or a thing
is it the beauty we see every day around us
I never knew what my muse was
or where it came or where it goes when I need it most
sometimes I think it leaves me for long periods of time
and even sometimes I wonder if it will ever come back
but it always does - even if for only a short while then leaves, again
I can always be sure my muse is beside me at some time or other
I only hope she's here when I need her most.
